چکیده

We present theoretical UBVIand bolometric light curves of SNe Ia for several explosion models, computed with our multi-group radiation hydro code. We employ our new corrected treatment for line opacity in the expanding medium. The results are compared with observed light curves. Our goal is to find the most viable thermonuclear SN model that gives good fits not only to a typical SN Ia light curve, but also to X-ray observations of young SNIa remnants. It appears that classical 1D SNIa models, such as deflagration W7 and delayed detonation DD4, fit the light curves not so good as a new 3D deflagration model by Reinecke et al (which is averaged over angles for our LC modelling). This model seems good also in reproducing X-ray observations of Tycho SNR. We believe that the main feature of this model which allows us to get correct radiation during the first month, as well as after a few hundred years, when an SNR forms, is strong mixing that pushes material enriched in iron and nickel to the outermost layers of SN ejecta.

Light curves for off-centre ignition models of type Ia supernovae

Motivated by recent models involving off-centre ignition of type Ia supernova explosions, we undertake three-dimensional time-dependent radiation transport simulations to investigate the range of bolometric light curve properties that could be observed from supernovae in which there is a lop-sided distribution of the products from nuclear burning. We consider both a grid of artificial toy model...

The Rise Times and Bolometric Light Curve of SN 1994D: Constraints on Models of Type Ia Supernovae

Using the published photometry and an empirical model of the temporal evolution of the apparent magnitudes in the UBVRI passbands, we have constructed a continuous optical bolometric, or “quasi-bolometric”, light curve of the well-observed Type Ia supernova SN 1994D. The optical bolometric light curve is found to have a maximum luminosity of about 8.8 × 1042 × ( D 13.7Mpc) 2 erg/s, which is rea...

Late Light Curves of Normal Type Ia Supernovae

We present late-epoch optical photometry (BVRI) of seven normal/superluminous Type Ia supernovae: SN 2000E, SN 2000ce, SN 2000cx, SN 2001C, SN 2001V, SN 2001bg, SN 2001dp. The photometry of these objects was obtained using a template subtraction method to eliminate galaxy light contamination during aperture photometry. We show the optical light curves of these supernovae out to epochs of up to ...

Bolometric Light Curves of Supernovae

The thermalized energy from the radioactive decays of Ni and Ni and their daughter nuclides power the light curves of supernovae near maximum light. The bolometric light curve gives us a fundamental understanding of the energy evolution of a supernova explosion and the amount of radioactive nuclides produced. In this review, I will discuss the bolometric evolution of the Type IIp supernovae SN1...

Photometry is the most easily acquired information about supernovae. The light curves constructed from regular imaging provide signatures not only for the energy input, the radiation escape, the local environment and the progenitor stars, but also for the intervening dust. They are the main tool for the use of supernovae as distance indicators through the determination of the luminosity. The li...
